Bicycle Repair
Service for all makes, models, types.  If your bike is in need of some expert care, give me a call.

Common service procedures include:
- Safety Tune-Up: ensure brakes and shifting are working well, wheels & tires are in good shape, and key areas are secure (seat, handlebars, stem, cranks, pedals). Parts extra.
- Performance Tune-Up: to the above, add: lubricate cables/housings, clean and lube drive train components, true wheels. Parts extra.
- Overhauls of various components as needed: headsets, hubs, bottom brackets, brake system, shift system, wheel truing, wheel building, and so on.

If you're an elite competitor with a top-end triathlon bike, a fair-weather cruiser with a hybrid, a commuter with a bike you rely on, or a cyclo-tourist trekking the countryside, I can help your bike give you the best ride possible.

If you choose to purchase your bike at a big-box store, bring your new bike to me and for $20 I'll set it up as well as the components will allow. This way you can be sure the bike is safe to ride, will give the best ride it can, and will be as reliable as it can be.

Who/What/Why...
In 2005 I retired from the corporate world to pursue my passion of helping to get more people on bikes more often.  To support those activities, I chose to take my life-long tinkering with bikes to a pro level.  I trained at Barnett's Bicycle Institute in Colorado Springs and wrenched at Ziggy's Cycle in Kitchener.  From 2006 through 2009, I was a founding partner and instructor at Winterborne Bicycle Institute, Canada's only trade school for bike mechanics (part of Conestoga College, and accredited by Shimano).

After moving to Brockville for family and lifestyle reasons, I launched Brockville Cycles to serve the local cycling community.

In just one season, I'm now the preferred mechanic for 18 of the 35 Brockvillians who competed or participated in the 2010 edition of the Thousand Islands Triathlon day of events.  I'm also proud to count 7 local Ironman competitors among my clients.

Service is by appointment only, and I'm very flexible ... give me a call!

Bike trip journals and photos are on my personal website.
